  • Isn't it three chords and a short riff with the riff repeated as a small break.

Ill practice it all ten when we decide who does what I can fit in wherever.

    Yeah, it's not difficult.
I'll do the same but I'll aim to play the solid rhythm track behind you two while I'm singing.

What about Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand?
I had a go at it once, based on a Youtube tutorial.

Ive started compiling a googlesheet list - will need to work out how to post an image or I can share the googlesheet if you PM me your email addresses. I assume I cant embed a table - Whats the best way to post an image?

Can you let me know what other instruments you guys want to play (apart from guitar), so far Ive assumed:-

    Drumists? mrkb, Octatonic, strumjoughlamps

    Bassists? Bridgehouse, Octatonic, mrkb

    Vocals? Alnico, spark240, mrkb, Bridgehouse

I have listened to "Ever fallen in love" drums and I don't think I can play that - so it will depend on if Octatonic can make it on the day, or we can find a backing track.

OK, trying to link from imgur:-

This is what Ive got so far - let me know of additions, omissions or changes. We can confirm which songs are going to the final list once we've got the drum, bass and vocal slots filled.

I'll do bass on basket case, but @Alnico doesn't seem to want any bass on fallen in love with... (otherwise I could do that too..)

@bridgehouse of course I want YOU playing Bass.
The way you worded it I thought you meant me.

    Sorry.
I have been a bit out of tune with life the last couple of weeks so my apologies for not reading the question properly.

Yes, please play bass on the Buzzcocks track.

Also, Can you put me in as Rhythm Guitar on Basket Case as well as vocals.

Just a thought, but should / could there be one song that is developed during the day so everyone plays at the end - or is that a bit meh?

Anything by The Quo should be easy

  • I'm having a mini crisis. I think the last song I played through in full was I'm Eighteen by Alice Cooper, roughly 3 months ago. Struggling to think of a song to play or sing as my rhythm playing seems shot to bits which is what endless noodling has done to me. Time to knuckle down.....
    Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.....

Hi @spark 240 What Quo songs were you thinking. it perhaps needs to have some layers to get as many involved as possible... If someone is up for some slide and those more experienced up for the coaching, we could try something like Freebird maybe???

Nothing in particular, just think they are dead easy, I recall me a my mates all doing Caroline, rocking all over, down down...etc....I'm not fussed just a thought..

Happy to have a go at some Lizzy someday also.

I also suggested Take Me Out, which hasn't made the list yet.

  • This is still, for me, as much about learning from those more experienced, so happy to have a go at some Quo and Take Me Out to improve technique.
