I'd rather have a Jonny Greenwood signature Tele :)
Having owned one of those Teles... I’m more interested in the Ed Strat. There’s a reason few folks bought them, as they are neither Arthur nor Martha. All the ‘magic’ is in Jonny, not that guitar... believe me!
    Oh crikey, I was kidding, I didn't know they had actually done one @impmann ;

Did it have a neck humbucker?  Sunburst?
We have to be so very careful, what we believe in...

It wasn’t a signature model back then, it was just a production guitar.
    Mine was Sunburst

I tried one, as well as plenty of lace sensors over the years. Believe when people say the magic is in Johnny, not the guitar!

I should note that I also really admire Ed. Anyone who can be in an awesome guitar band like Radiohead and know when to hold back, when to not sound like a guitar and when NOT to play at all deserves a huge amount of credit.

Completely agree. I actually think Johnny has (albeit intentionally) gone from mid-90's alt-guitar-hero to the least interesting guitar player in the band on the last couple of albums.

To be fair, probably still gets paid pretty well....

Once the new custom guitar is paid for, the EOB Strat is the next one to save up for.

  • I think I might get one of these. White Strat, nice pickups, interesting additions, fat neck.

    That video was funny.

I love Radiohead but have definitely never thought I'd like to get the same gear as eob.

Wonder why fender didn't just call it the sustainer Strat or something, I doubt eob's name carries much cache.  When I first read about this I didn't even know his name (only knew johnny Greenwood)

This is the best new thing Fender have done in a LONG time. And I'm not even really a huge Radiohead fan.

  • Really want one of these. I'll add it to the gas list.

I never even noticed it doesn't have a normal Strat jack socket until I watched that video.  What a dolt I am.

That was a nice demo.  I don't normally pay much attention to the MIM models but the 10/56 neck makes this one very interesting...

Nearly a grand for a Mexican strat with a couple of aftermarket pickups.... Ouch.

To be fair the higher end mim stuff is pretty great.

That's just the way prices have gone the last few years, unfortunately.
