According to one of their more recent former designers, anyway. If they genuinely think that it probably explains why I don't like any of their modern amps, because they don't.
I will wait and see with these. This does look like a pretty well-thought-out range from a size/power/features point of view, at least - the only major omission I can see is a 50W head. (And the traditionalist in me wishes the 40W combo was also 50W, but that's a very small point.) The DSL40 combo comes with a V-Type too! The 20W seems to be listed with a Seventy/80, but presumably that's a mistake since it's a 10" speaker. Hopefully a 10" Greenback, but that's possibly wishing for too much...

Transformer quality definitely is an issue by itself as well though, since power transformer failures are almost equally common.
The good news is that so far, I have not seen a single one of the newer Vietnamese-made DSLs with any fault other than a blown valve, so possibly things have improved.

Have they got Gibson in as marketing consultants then?

Strange that there's nothing about it on Marshall's own website either.

I owned one for a period but sold it on. Played through one at a rehearsal space last year and was the same
Agree with you on the TSl as had a head too and was crap
Mini Jubilee 2525 head went back too. The clean and push gain settings were amazing but the lead channel again a total harsh buzz saw mess
Only marshalls I still have are my two 80's Lead 12 heads and a Bass 12 combo. They sound fantastic and are solid state
