Hi folks !

You have here a rare opportunity to get a fantastic PRS at a very good price £3600 ONO (outside reverb and ebay, cash on collection or bank transfer).

Here is the ad with the pictures: https://reverb.com/uk/item/6830769-paul-reed-smith-mccarty-private-stock ;

And the good thing is... that it is in an almost unplayed condition !!

All the dings and defects have been pictured (you can see them all and there almost none). Original HardCase included !

Here are the specs:

Mahogany Body, Flame Maple Top + Neck
Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard
14K Gold Outlined Old-School Birds + Eagle
Original Suede Case
25” scale length neck
PRS “flat jumbo” fret-wire
22 fret Pattern neck,
PRS old-style birds,
Private Stock eagle inlays,
Flame maple neck,
High-gloss nitro finish,
volume and push/ pull tone controls with 3-way toggle pickup.

I am happy to ship it.

By the way... As I do not have the COA (I already bought it like that, hence the price)... I have an email from the PRS customer service confirming the authenticity of the guitar. Here it is:

Hi XX,

Thank you for writing PRS Guitars. This appears to be a 2004 McCarty Private Stock, curly maple top, mahogany back, curly rock maple neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and headstock veneer, mother of pearl Private Stock eagle and bird inlays with 14-karat gold outlines, Purple Mist finish with McCarty pickups.  Unfortunately I do not have the nut or case type listed. I hope you find this information helpful.

Regards,

  • No need to redact the PRS Customer services details.....!

  • I thought it gave the ad a little bit more of credibility :)... Some people think that without a COA it is not a genuine PRS.

I think he meant removing parts of the details by redact...

surely only an imbecile would have doubts about it as a genuine PRS  - Yet I agree many want the COA but can't fault the asking price

  • I sold a private stock some time ago without a coa. Amazing the number of people who just flatly refuse to look at one without it.
There are even forums discussions dedicated to the impact on value. Rediculous but there you go....

    This is 100% original, obviously.
Good luck with the sale, nice guitar.

    Lovely guitar.

I recently lost a sale on my Knaggs because it had no Spec sheet, even though I had an Email direct from Peter Wolf of Knaggs stating they never issued them on the early guitars. His loss, missed out on a great guitar at a great price.

lol Prudd, that's when you get guys who aren't players, they are stamp collectors. I've also lost sales because of lack of tags, and one time because the case was a replacement one, because of course that has a massive bearing on the playability and tone :D

  • Are the photos with the black backround taken a while ago?

Just noticed that the truss rod cover in those pics is different to the truss rod cover in the others.

Not a biggy, just wondering why the change

  • Basically I have two trussrod covers. I bought the one with the Ohm in abalone because I thought it was cool. I also have the original one.
