It's getting there! Biggest problem at the moment is pickup choice.. just don't know what to go for yet..

I recently installed an Aguilar 4PJ-HC set in a Fender MIM Deluxe PJ Bass. These certainly raised the standard above the stock units.

The EMG GZR PJ pair sounds excellent but the logo on the pickup covers might be incongruous with the Sixties cosmetics. Perhaps, you can "relic" the silver ink away?

    Be seeing you.

I would be after a split J to go with the split P.

You know, I was kinda intending this one to be my main gigging bass.. depending on how good it turns out I might be persuaded to let the black MiM go.

You really need to just pop over and try all of them, you know....

    I really do!

And as it happens I have some cash available.

Nit this weekend though - it's my wedding anniversary. I'd be in a bit of trouble!

Lol. And I'm at a roller disco right now.

You should pop over to try out some wide boards to see if you really do like them. Let's arrange something when this PJ is done so you can compare and contrast a whole bunch of them.

I am almost tempted to say you should do a partscaster like mine and specify it yourself - Grahams necks really are that good..

Let me know when you've finished the build then! That sounds like great fun.

I'll try not to spend my funds in the meantime!

Thought I'd revive this one as I've been letting the lacquer harden off for checking.

It's been subject to the usual freezer, airing cupboard routine for a week now, and it's slowly starting to work..

    Slowly, slowly..

Your workshop is a busy place.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

And here's how it's looking now overall:

Next job is pick guard screws and electrics.

I need some pickups for it too...
