Lots of parcels have arrived but I can't help but feel that something is missing

Pickups with the "Oil City Masterwound" stamp look cool, but I'll be using the cream covers to match the scratchplate.

Those Northwest necks are truly lovely, I have one on my partsa and it's so comfortable with a "fuller figure"

No, it's polyurethane, vintage gloss. However, the body is being finished in nitro by @lonestar. Plan is to complete the project early in the new year.

It hadn't crossed my mind, but if it turns out to be an issue I can always relic the neck.

I'm no expert, but I don't know how easy it is to relic poly to look like typical nitro ageing, i.e. crazing or cracking. Hopefully some of our experienced experts will be able to say whether it's easily done. Calling @WezV as this is something I'd like to know too...

As I said earlier in the thread, "I've gone for "inspired by 1956" rather than an exact copy." Whilst this discussion might be interesting for Fretboards (or at least, some Makers & Modders), I doubt that many people who see me playing the guitar will know the difference between how poly and nitro age, so if there is a slight inconsistency I guess I can live with it.

It's a shame that you didn't get a 22 fret neck as it would have made it very close to a Clapton Custom Shop tribute guitar in Brownie colouring :-)

But my inspiration for this build, the two tone '56 Strat, has 21 frets. Anyone planning a Brownie build can use the "Eric Clapton Style" neck from Northwest, that has 22 frets.

I think that was Blackie. I always thought that they were both mongrels, but Wikipedia seems to suggest otherwise, and as we know they always tell the truth ;-)

I've just dug out the Christie's brochure for the 1999 sale, and it confirms that it was bought in London. They show a copy of the receipt in there.
