Probably the greatest rhythm guitarist ever....thanks for the memories
Angus might be the face of the band but Malcolm was the voice. Probably the best rock guitar player ever, for my money.

Just seen, and very sad to learn of his passing. One of those musicians who have an appeal that goes way beyond their own musical area, just by virtue of being so bloody good.

was only introducing some new guitar students to the joys of his tight open rock chord style this morning.. Damn shame...

I've only just seen this news.  Not really a surprise, but so sad nonetheless.  RIP.

    Very sad news.

I played his part in a DC tribute for six years. It didn’t take me long to fully appreciate the genius of his rhythm playing. Unique.

    RIP
@Ossyrocks - I always play Malc's part when I've got some AC/DC on the stereo to jam along with. Amazing how those 'simple' patterns and riffs of his can make you look very shabby, very quickly. I've learned so much about timing and economy just from doing this.

Absolute legend and very very sad news.

  • A human rhythm machine. I’d say the best rock rhythm guitarist there has been.

Liz kershaw mentioned it on 6 radio, but apart from that...

TBF, it was on the front page of the BBC website. Let's not have another anti-media hysteria session.

Very sad to hear this, Malcolm's songs and guitar sound were a huge part of my life.

Can't believe I missed this. Terribly sad news. He was a power house of rhythm guitar. His contribution to AC/DC's success was paramount and his discipline was extraordinary. Whilst his brother took all the accolades he just stood there putting the meat to the bone.
