I can't believe it's been 32 years since we lost Phil Lynott. He along with Nile Rodgers are my musical idols.

Put on some Lizzy or even one of his solo album tracks and remember this giant of rock.

Keeping with bassists, and my fellow, Cypriot countryman, it's been 7 years since the genius that was Mick Karn of Japan, Dali's Car passed away.

Both cruelly taken away far too young.

RIP

Two of my favourite bands and bassists. I particularly remember Phil passing and being properly upset. Watching him and Grand Slam from right at the front of the stage is such a great memory and Thin Lizzy were my first ever big gig ( 38 years and 17 days ago).

It’s not perfect but Phil Lynott: songs for while I’m away is still on the iPlayer if anyone is looking for an overview of his life.
