Keem to get into bass guitar this year.
Love the sound of a P bass but prefer a J shaped neck. Any advice welcomed.
Might ask Graham GSPBases to sort me out, but will test some bases this month.
We one hand preferred...pre dinged

Fender certainly used to offer a MIM Precision Bass Special with PJ pickups and a "Jazz" width neck.

The old P Bass Lyte and Zone Bass models followed a similar formula but their neck profiles were abnormally deep.

I think the Nate Mendel p bass has a jazz profile neck.

Precision bass Lyte also had a jazz profile neck.

Look at the Sire range (now available in the UK from Andertons or use Thomann).

The Sire V7 is an active jazz bass but the controls are so powerful and versatile that you can coax P bass sounds out of it. Alternatively, they now have a hybrid PJ (precision and jazz bass pickups) version called a P7 that I believe has a jazz bass neck.

Great value basses that punch well above their weight. I've got one and I'm about to get my second.

Lakland Duck Dunn basses are crazy good for the money. You'll need to find one second hand though as they're discontinued I think. It's a P bass with a J neck.

Fit a Jazz neck to a P body? I did it with a Harley Benton neck.....bolted straight on....
