    Nice!  I just bought an "Alabama" 5 string, basic beginners model.  It sounds pretty good for the price, and the store I teach at gave me a deal.  I've been working on my own with the Mel Bay "Teach Yourself Banjo" book/CD and Hal Leonard "Banjo Method" books one and two.  They deal only in melodic banjo but I've picked up some good tips on clawhammer from youtube and the banjo hangout forum.

    Yup banjo hangout seems like a good resource. I have a truefire membership and they have a few courses on there. Will start tonight!
