    I have a 50w Wharfedale head I can bring, if there's a spare cab?
Bloody thing seems to have developed a fault. If I can sort it before the big day, I'll bring it but may be a non-starter.

  • I've  got a tiny 50W DV Mark head and an ultralight 2x12. The head is SS but has an effects loop, reverb and a boost channel so should work as a clean amp or in 4CM if people are bringing their own pedalboards. They're so light I'll bring them anyway in case  there aren't any other  amps brought along.

  • The main concern is having DI out. He has cabs aplenty do we don't really need to worry about that as long as I know on advance so I can make sure they're in the room.

I'll bring a  Palmer DI box with cab simulation on it with XLR-out. I use it for recording and on stage rather than micing up. It can go between any head and the cab.

As I suspected, I'll have to drop out of this one. Just got back from a Yorkshire visit to see my father, he's got cancer and is deteriorating fast. It's touch and go whether he'll still be alive at the end of the month, but whichever way, I'll spend three days at my folks' house last weekend in Jan rather than coming across to the jam on the Saturday. Have a good one, and happy for my subs to go towards Fretboard funds / jammers' beer kitty.

So sorry to hear that @bigjon. I was really looking forward to meeting and playing some music with you. Nothing anyone can say except all the best.

  • Ah Jon that's very sad news. So sorry to hear it mate. Thinking of you and your family.

From a logistics point of view,
@Rowby1 there is a space if you want it, if you could let us know and I'll give you details to reimburse Jon for his ticket and take over his place.

Also, @Van_Hayden I'm yet to have confirmation / ticket money from you. Can you confirm please?

Are we still in need of more amps?  My little Peavey micro head has an XLR out if more gear is needed.

Think I'll bring my Kemper and maybe the Wharfedale, if I can get it sorted out in time.

Well, we have a special arrangement with Bob, the owner. He's letting us have the whole place for the day.

@Bridgehouse @Legionreturns ; - do we have an expected start and finish time for "the day"?

I'm trying to work out logistics, and whether I should stay over the night before, or the night after ...

  • 11-6 is the booking, with the aim that the main set room will run 12 - 5

  • I'm also needing to pull out of this unfortunately. Having a manic start to the year and I'm barely touching a guitar lately.  Glad to give someone else a shot at what sounds like a really good event.
    Have fun everyone.

Well looks like I've scored a spot now I've got some time off from work, looking forward to it, even though I don't know any of the songs!

As far as backline goes I've got a few amps that I can fetch along, although only the Marshall has a DI.
If anyone fancies trying one (if the studio allows of course ;) ) let me know and I'll see what'll fit in the car.

Marshall 2555X Jubilee Reissue & 212 cab (2 U.K. V30's and can be run in stereo or with two amps etc).
Friedman Buxom Betty head (great for pedalboards)
Matchless Independence combo (nice little three channel thingy)
    Fender 'The Twin'
    Danplifier JCM800/Friedman head
    Sonus SC50 212 combo
Also two zilla cabs, one dinky with a Celestion alnico cream or fat baby with Creamback neo

Happy for any of them to be used all day if needs be.

@drwiddly are you bringing your AxeFX or kemper?

Sorry if I’m being thick - but why is having DI so important?
0reaction image LOL 0reaction image Wow! 0reaction image Wisdom
  • Sorry if I’m being thick - but why is having DI so important?
It's only important for the main set list room because Bob is recording each track for us, and the easiest way to do this is by having the DIs running straight into his recording desk in the adjoining studio. That way we only have to set it up once and only need drum and vocal mics.
