    Nightmare.

Errr, why?  Looks OK in vaseline focus.
Mostly edging with painters tape - it has to be so accurate.

Don't worry about accurate masking, you scrape the edge line clean using a blade.

Which I've just been doing prior to slapping the Tru Oil on ;)

And I didn't like the scraping bit at all hence a nightmare!

Interestingly the nitro has sunk into the filled holes on the headstock already - which kinda gives it a cool sort of "used to be something here" sort of look ;)

Either way, it's ok and doesn't look so bad. It will do.

    Bloody nightmare
The bass is exacting its revenge because you allowed it to come into contact with a copy of The Daily Mail.
    Be seeing you.

To be fair it was ceremoniously dumped in the bin.

And i I have never bought the daily mail. The pile of papers came from a big box donated to me for such purposes.

It's all it is good for.

Could we have a little less progress, and a bit more comedy please.

Have to ask. What's with C18Q1? Some kind of Mason's handshake thing?

    C18Q1 Bridgehouse's Comedy Bass Rebuild

As for 'Daphne Blue is being slapped on now.' Shouldn't someone notify the authorities?

C18Q1 is what I have been instructed to put - as per all the other Challenge 2018 Quarter 1 threads...

Pay attention at the back there!

Ahhhh - there you go with the comedy.

Everyone knows that Arsenal's defence don't run!

Project on hold. Work has gone mad.

Plus the fact it's official. Balsa is impossible to paint effectively. So it now needs stripping and I will have to go with an alternative solution. No idea what yet. Might even be tempted to do a black stain but broadly I'm out of ideas for it as it's beyond my spraying capability, sadly.

I would be tempted to epoxy the sides with a good finishing epoxy like west systems.  That should solve the balsa issue

Or as a quick fix, if the front and back are okay but sides are crap.... some kinda variation on danelectro side tape?

This one is rapidly going to the land of abandonia - the work required to get the body fit for some kind of painting is getting mad - and it's going to cost.

Ugh. Don't like doing it but I don't have the time at the moment, and my inclination is going too. Had a brief look tonight and frankly I'm not looking forward to dealing with it
