  • I was expecting something like a Roland G 707 or something, but this is much nicer.

Also, this and this Fender Exotic Wood 2017 Limited Edition American Professional Mahogany Stratocaster Violin Burst are exciting to see.
    I was expecting Garlic Bread

    ;)

The future according to the 1950's I'd say..
Nah, they would have purposely avoided the traditional style F-hole back then.

positioning an f-hole on a strat is quite hard.  It’s not an easy fit with the plate.  If you look at a few you will see some examples too far back, some too far forward, some too small to fit better.  This one is about right for me

It looks alright, but I'm more interested in how much of the body is actually hollow and how it affects the tone.  Also how it would compare to a similarly chambered body without the f-hole.

What did I say about some having the f-hole too far back???

although technically that have it right, themiddle points of the  f-hole should be broadly in line with the bridge, just not on a strat

Didn’t Charlie Burchill of Simple Minds have a semi hollow Ibanez Roadstar with a Kahler on in the mid 80’s?

Looks incongruous. The Strat was the 50s sleek stylish forward looking guitar whereas it's contemporaries at Gibson harked back to the Jazz guitars of the forties big band era.
