Still far too much money for what it is, £425 and it would clean up
Now all one needs to know is... what it is and what its capabilities are.

  • Doesn’t seem like too much to me when you consider where it sits alongside helix and helix lt. Also considering the price of a single strymon and how much more this (probably) has.

That's what GC have it for. Remember, MAP is used in the US but not here. Depending on what retailers decide to sell it for, it could be £599 or it could be £399 or it could be £435 etc etc. Let's see what happens Thursday. If it's a thing of course! ;-)

I'll offer you £30 and all my leftover mince pies from Christmas?
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

As I've said elsewhere...there is no official UK pricing yet, but given that the LT is $999 and £685, that would imply that this will be around the £410 mark.

So...are you saying it's not expensive enough? :D

As Ross said, we don't really know what it is yet, it looks to me like Line 6s answer to. FX8, if it's anything like the suggested price,  that looks cheap to me.  That said, I hope I'm wrong and it's the mini Helix I 'need'

It might lead to a fire sale of interesting pedals as there was when the Axe-Fx and Helix were released

I had the Helix LT for a while but didn’t like any of the drive models that much. Currently I own a Fractal FX8 which I guess is the direct comparison to this Line6 offering. The drive pedals in the Fractal are superior to the Line6 imho. However, if you’re just after a multi fx without a massive amount of presets and can live with its arcane interface, check out the TC Nova System. It has arguably better reverbs and delays than both Line6 and Fractal, it’s pitch block is unarguably miles better than the FX8 and it’s overdrive and distortion block is all fantastic sounding analog goodness. If it had more presets or something similar to Fractal’s scenes or Line6’s snapshots, I wouldn’t have bothered with the LT or the FX8. They’re cheap as chips too and loads of them around.

Have you see the full specs yet?

If not it seems early to judge "what it is"?

Having owned both I couldn’t disagree more
i liked the FX8 but I really struggled with the drives

  • Even at the basic level, I would be happy to pay £400 for Helix-quality effects, the scribble strips, and some basic IO options - a loop or two, amp control, exp input perhaps. My upper limit is probably £550, because at that point you may as well buy an LT, so I won’t be surprised if it comes out at closer to £400, and any less than that will have me pre-ordering one without even reading the specs.

The unknown price is definitely far too expensive considering it’s feature set, which nobody actually knows yet. Love the internet!

In my opinion this thing will be ace with my Kemper, definitely keeping an eye on it.

I have a fairly intensive rehearsal Thursday but I will do my best to be on hand to answer any questions about what may or may not be released.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

Me neither, brother. Does this rehearsal imply that you're not at NAMM this year?
