Found this an interesting little find. Think it highlights just how much the music industry has changed. I wonder if a session bassist, even one at the top of his game, could ever achieve such rock star riches these days!

  • Can't be bad using Dad to keep time, rather than a Metronome, when you want to do your piano practice.

I loved him on the Toto 35th Anniversary Tour - he did a great job.

Not surprising given the people he's played with :)

a session bassist ... at the top of his game
NE is a first call session musician for a reason. If/when health or retirement eventually ends his career, somebody else will get the call(s). Same goes for most of the "names".

One of NE's talents is the ability to switch the personality in his playing on and off as necessary. He can be anonymous one moment and distinctively himself the next. By comparison, Nile Rodgers is always Nile. Tony Levin is always Tony Levin. (This is, of course, why those two get hired.)

    Be seeing you.

  • smart enough to get a degree in music, thoroughly talented, enthusiastic about music, being in the right place to get the gigs with the right people ... yeah I'd say he's done all right :)
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

Jeff Berlin is the same, he has a mansion and a Ferrari. Riches without the hassle of being a rock star.

  • The guy is a monster player - impeccable feel. Glad to see he’s been well paid for the work he’s done - the fact he seems to be a lovely bloke is the icing on the cake.

All those Eric Clapton touring bucks help.

Dude smiles all the time while playing too, now we know it's cos he's cashing cheques in his mind after every 4 chord song.
