    This got my interest but I notice the system spec. states 8GB of space on system drive.

    I can't believe the plugin is that big, so it makes me wonder what other stuff might get loaded onto my system. I don't have any other Waves stuff and (from what I've read) I'm concerned there might be a load of bloatware installed as a part of the Waves Central software.

    It's not a competition.

    Yeah your probably right, I haven’t used any Waves gear before so not sure what they are like with regards to bloatware.

    Was hoping that someone here was using it already to see what they thought  =)

    I've got a few Waves plugs (3 so far) - I haven't noticed any bloatware or bad stuff.

    8GB of free space on the system drive seems to be a standard requirement for all Waves plugins.
    If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.

    Has anyone installed the Scheps plugin (without having prior Wave installations) that can confirm the installation size? My concern centres around whether (something like) the complete suite of Waves stuff is installed, even when you just buy one plugin and it just sits there as a 'foot in the door' to tempt purchase of licences for their other plugins.

    I'm interested in the plugin, but 8GB is a deal breaker and would take up too much of my 256 SSD system drive. It seems an insane size given that, by comparison, the system requirements for Helix Native are only 100MB.

    It's not a competition.

    @stratman3142 ;;

    Have had a look on the Waves website & instructions are as follows;
    1. Download and install Waves Central for Mac | Windows.
      Downloads not included in Waves Central: Tracks LiveWaves for DiGiCo, and Waves for Venue.
      If you already have Waves Central installed, skip to step 2.
    2. Launch Waves Central.
      Windows: via the desktop shortcut or Start Menu > All Programs > Waves.
      Mac: Applications > Waves Central.
    3. Log into Waves Central using your Waves account information.
    4. Click on Easy Install & Activate.
    5. Select the products you wish to install & activate on this computer.
    6. Click on the Install & Activate button.

    Watched a few videos earlier today (Skip to 17.22 for the reviewers overall pros & cons) & think that I might have to download the demo (7 days of use)

  • @duotone ;
    Thanks. My concern is the installation size on the system drive.

    I'm still miffed with IK Multimedia after I purchased some T-Racks plugins and the installation manager installed the complete set, including loads of stuff I hadn't purchased, which comes up as unlicenced. As a point of principle, I avoid software that might add loads of stuff I didn't request that clogs up my system drive.

    My music computer runs very smoothly and I'm more fussy about what goes onto my system drive than what I eat :)

    It's not a competition.

  • @duotone thanks for the info and I might have gone for this one, but I've just used up my VST budget for a while in purchasing Helix Native while the 30% discount applies.

    Bollocks!  I'm not paying $150 for it, $49 though I definitely would have done...will just have to be patient & hope the offer comes around again.

    It will. Waves sales go in cycles.

    Also given there are a few Scheps plugins it’s possible they’ll do a Scheps bundle at some point like they do with CLA etc

  • I've just got it and it is awesome.  I love the way everything is layed out.  It makes it easier to tool about with stuff.  Well worth the money.

    Cheers, will stay patient.

    Have another 4 days left on the demo & have to say that I do like it.  The highlight feature which lights up controls Scheps & some of the other mixers focus on is a good learning tool.

    Waves plugs are excellent. I used about a dozen of them, quite expensive but they often have sales.

    The reason for the space requirement is you download a central waves programme and access your registered through it.

    I've not tried this one, but I have the Scheps 73 and its awesome for MS processing.
