Right.  Change of plan.  My thinline tele is going down the twangtastic TV Jones route.

Watching a pair on Fleabay right now, but anyone on here sellin'?

If the eBay pickup pair is the one that I think it is, it may not suit a Telecaster Thinline quite as well as you hope. Firstly, the model is on the hot side - more P.A.F. than Tele. Secondly, the protruding baseplate may make suspending the 'Trons from a pickguard difficult. Even with TVJ mounting adapters, the baseplate "ears" will probably still be in the way.

A list of which models and, equally importantly, which mount format(s) would be helpful.

    Be seeing you.

I've looked again and think you're entirely correct re mounting issues: the 'new' pickups have a universal mounting system which includes side tags for suspending from a pickguard.  The Powertrons on Fleabay don't.  Thanks for the warning; why does all this have to be so effing difficult? :D

He does say he hopes to re-open 1st March.

I've got a pair of H/B sized Mojotrons to go into my revamped PRS SE SC
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

If your guitar is already routed for HBs you could perhaps look at the Oil City Cow-Tron Classic HB. Humbucker size but with all the tonal goodness of filtertrons.

  • I'm certain I saw another thread on here a few months ago where a variety of UK winders of Filtertron style pickups were discussed (I bookmarked the makers sites, but not the thread). The afore mentioned Mojo and Oil City were mentioned, plus:

    Fletcher pickups (Fletch-o-trons):
    https://www.fletcherpickups.co.uk/filtertrons

And the Creamery pickups (Black Cats):
    https://www.creamery-pickups.co.uk/custom-handwound-pickups-from-the-creamery/black-cat-humbucker-sized-filtertron-style-pickups.html#.WoTlRXqnxag

Fletcher pickups seem very well priced and the Creamery offers lots of variants.
