One of my fave Reggie Perrin exchanges.

CJ: "I didn't get where I am today by beating around the bush, Reggie..."

    Reggie: "No CJ."

CJ: "Never use two words where one will do Reggie.....that's my motto, that's my axiom, that's the way I look at things....."

  • Some Mothers Do Ave Em. The moving house episode where he rides in the back of the removal van. Although they have now removed my favourite bit, presumably on PC grounds.

Frank (emerging from oil drum covered in tar and clutching houseplant): "Me Saxifraga!"
Asian chap (who has come over to help him): "Me Butta Singh"

    Python's "Fish Slapping Dance".

Anything from the Marx brothers heyday, especially if Harpo is involved.

But I think Laurel and Hardy's "Hard boiled eggs and nuts" is the most perfect  comedy sketch ever. It set the standard over 80 years ago and I don't think it's ever been bettered.

(Edit - sorry forgot it's supposed to be British sketches)

Pedantic reminder - the Marx Brothers were American, not British :)

(Laurel & Hardy were half British.)
