Almost anything from A Bit of Fry and Laurie.

For my money, the finest sketch show ever to come out of the UK.

"It is far from a good morning - it is, in fact, rather win.......................try."
    - "I'm going to write a very stiff letter. A VERY stiff letter. On cardboard."

Never watched the league of gentleman but the new christmas special which opened with the woman getting off the train and walking out into the slum town of royston vasey and seeing the poverty and filth, then sees a man peeing up against a bin drinking a can of beer who says "wasn't always like this round here - it used to be sh1t"  was comedy genius.

Plus the part of inside number 9 with the silent sketch about the burglars one opens the patio door to let out the big dog and the other throws the little dog but doesn't realised he has now closed the patio door, I actually fell off the sofa laughing.

restored my faith in modern comedy.

  • There's a lot of things on this thread that I'd forgotten about, even though they made me howl with laughter at the time. EG Goodness Gracious Me - going for an English, and the John Cleese/Ronnie Barker/Ronnie Corbett Class System sketch. I don't think the fact that I'd forgotten about them makes them any less funny than the sketches I remembered, rather that there is one hell of a lot of really good British comedy and with a finite mind like mine one can't store it all.

It's a good job we all remember different things, and I'm grateful for being reminded of some huge guffaws from the past :)
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
