Are there any soundclips of this on the Rift website, or more info?  There used to be lots of models with info, video demonstrations and so on, but I can't see these now.  If I'm looking in the wrong place, can somebody give me the correct URL to see info on this model?

As well as any 5E3 amp does!

The videos are great, very impressed.  I'm tempted, but already having a PT20 which I love, I think this is fairly similar tonally.

@Onpar - 'period-correct' fx seem to work the best i.e. slapback delay, tremolo. You probably won't need reverb, 5E3 amps sound rich without it.

  • Thankfully I can keep my money in my pocket this time. Looks great, but hopefully my own one will be arriving in the near future.

    Even purtier inside!

@Onpar - I have a 5E3 (kit built) and I would say don't overdo the pedals, not least because you won't need them in order to sound outstanding. I have gigged mine with just a Strat and a lead and controlled the sound from the guitar's volume control, job done - when these cam out, there were no fx pedals anyway!

The lack of reverb is no loss, because between them the circuit and the cab somehow create their own resonance. A bit of delay, tremolo, compression, or light overdrive sound fine, but it can get mushy if you start adding things like phasers or too much external drive.
