NGD: Furch OM35-SR

Well it's finally arrived. Tight and precise, very different from my Cedar and Mahogany dreadnought.

    No, from stageshop.hu Ernö the owner is apparently good friends with F.Furch and is sent nice instruments from CZ. He was very helpful through the process, including recording video with a requested comparison.

    Oooofffffff!!!!! That’s tasty as..!
     so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

  • So far so good, it's very well set up and a joy to play. Balanced from lows to highs. Lots of overtones and sustain but more controlled than the Cedar Mahogany dreadnought I'd been playing.

    Very loud and responsive.

    Interactive guitar mag has a nice review on the model: https://www.guitarinteractivemagazine.com/issues/issue-23/reviews/furch-om35/

    I'll try and get some audio samples up at some point.

    why is that guy in the review whacking it with a flatpick ? - he don't know - OM's are best for finger playing.
    OK he's an electric player,
    look forward to a sound clip DB.

    @AliGorie ;;;
    Totally unscientific recording. I just installed the pickup system in the guitar and haven't recorded anything in ages so no clue on getting everything levelled correctly. It got a bit boomy towards the end where it's strummed.

    Basically three tracks straight into a focus rite interface and Logic proX.  First track (backing of first section) is flesh picked and dry, no EQ. Second and third track flat picked with a bit of reverb and a 180hz cut where the strumming was overdriving the pickup on the heavier bit.

    Yep it's a dual source jobbie, Schertler Magnetico AG6 with a little condenser mic

  • I've never heard a bad Furch, even my Little Jane travel guitar that folds down to fit the meanest hand luggage allowance sounds and plays great.  This one looks stunning!!
