    Great achievement to break the 4 minute mile and must have inspired thousands through the years. Seems like he viewed his running as more of a hobby than anything. 88 years old.

    My dad was in that crowd of 3,000 people watching Bannister break the four minute mile on 6 May 1954.  I keep trying to spot him in the film clip.
