Black country customs (Laney) TI Boost

I'm interested in this as it seems like on paper it could be quite good, it's basically a copy of Tony Iommi's old Dallas Rangemaster but with a couple of extra additions. Plus it's a Tony Iommi sig pedal.....
If i could figure out how to embed a youtube vid i would, but i can't for the life of me figure it out...

Anyway, my question is has anyone got one or tried one? If so what do you reckon? Part of me thinks its over priced and i could find something cheaper to do the same job (Basically want it to run into a slightly breaking up amp to give some old style Sabbath tones)
Currently use a Tubescreamer but this looks like it might be more versatile?

  • I watched the same vid recently - it sounds great, and pretty reasonably priced too I thought.

Got it, played with it a bit. It's very good. It's not 'Tony in a box' (which i knew anyway) but through a nice crunchy amp it gets you pretty much there with old school Sabbath tones.
Sounds pretty good going into a clean amp too.

Yes, still very much enjoying it. Used as an overdrive in to a clean amp or push an already breaking up amp it sounds great. I can definatly get early Sabbath type tones with it but it also works for light break up to quite aggressive, and the eq on it is great. I've been through a fair few od pedals and this one is a keeper.

    Just got one of these.

Brilliant for nailing Sabbath sounds but also massively versatile with the various modes.

Nearly 5 years later and this pedal is still on my board. It’s bloody awesome.
    Anyone still using one?

    Yeah I still have mine.

It doesn't suit my DSL as much, but I'll keep it as it's just a great pedal.

@monoquixote What overdrives/boosts have you found that you like with your DSL? And do you use them on the green or red channel?
