Stevie Ray's version of Little Wing knocks Jimi's into a cocked hat. Brings a tear to my eye whenever I listen to it.
Whilst I don’t agree with this, I do think Little Wing makes for a great instrumental if done right and Stevie version is pretty damn good.

I’m liking this masterful version by Michael Landau, the note he hits at 2:17 may just be one if the best notes I’ve heard hit on guitar.

    Madonna - Ray of Light.

Madge & William Orbit's reworking of a hippy-dippy 60s folk tune into a dance floor filler

Anyone doing a Robert Johnson song.  I know he’s a legend and all that but the recordings are so bad it’s difficult to make anything out other than a sort of muffled strumming and rasping vocals - all of which sounds like he’s in a tiled bathroom five miles away. With the door closed.

    White Lion, "Radar Love"
Better than Golden Earring? Dunno, it's quite close and it has 80s hair metal all over it.  Which I quite like!

To be honest most Dylan covers are better than the original.

Especially when they are taken in a new direction like The White Stripes version of One More Cup Of Coffee.
I love this one - Bic Runga... it has a fantastic spaghetti-western grandeur to it with the orchestral arrangement.

I think Dylan is very underrated as a singer though, it's just the tone of his voice that puts a lot of people off.

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

    "Just because I don't care, doesn't mean I don't understand." - Homer Simpson

Srv’s Testify is a huge improvement on the lacklustre Isley brothers, even if Hendrix is on it.

the absolute & indisputable truth. the original sounds like a sh*tfarm in august.

on the other hand i like the auger trinty whatever she is version of 'wheel on fire' marginally more than the banshees, but still think the banshees version is ace.

this may be a shade unexpected but it works for me. original just generic bubblegum.
