Due to a wrinkle in the space-time continuum, I have been asked to fill the guitar slot in a newly-forming female-fronted blues band where the singer, drummer, and bassist are already in place!

Usually in my experience it's more like "2 guitarists seek singer, bassist, and drummer" ... :-)

Nice work. Hope it goes well. I have a similar band but I’ve just let the drummer and bassist go - disputes over whether owning a diary is important.
Be interesting to compare set lists when you get going.

The singer is a big Beth Hart fan, so that's where we're starting - I'd Rather Go Blind, Damn Your Eyes, etc. Not sure yet if she knows they were Etta James songs before Beth Hart did them

That sounds like the conversations we have. Beth and Joe is close to the blueprint for my project with a bit of southern rock and soul thrown in - CCR and Eva Cassidy type stuff. Should be easy to find a list of songs that will go down well.

I saw Beth Hart last week and she was awesome!

I've sung Damn Your Eyes with my band before. I could learn the lyrics to I'd Rather Go Blind but it's a nice change to be in a band where I don't have to! ;-)

Off topic, but @TTony have you got the raw video footage from the Leicester jam which you could send me? I've only seen Call Me The Breeze. Happy to reimburse you for a memory stick plus postage.

Nice one Jon, I just hope the reason they don't have a guitarist is because they sacked the last one ;-)
