Angriest song ever?

What's Hot

Haven't listened to it for years, but "Killing in the name of" by RotM just came up on my random playlist. Bloody hell, what a song. The anger, righteousness and bile just came boiling out which led me to think, what's the angriest song you can think of?

Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me...

‘You don’t bring me flowers anymore’ by Neil Diamond is a very angry song in a subtle way.

    Ugly - The Stranglers

    I could have read
    A poem called
    Ozymandias
    To her instead
    I lived for the moment
    It was a futile
    Gesture anyway
    I was here
    And she was here
    And being broad
    Of mind and hips
    We did the only
    Thing possible
I guess I shouldn't have strangled her to death
But I had to go to work and she had laced my coffee with acid
    Normally I wouldn't have minded
But I'm allergic to sulfuric acid
    Besides she had acne
And if you've got acne well I apologize for disliking it intensely.
But it's understandable that ugly people have got complexes
I mean it seems to me that ugly people don't have a chance
It's only the children or the fucking wealthy who tend to be good looking
    An ugly fart
    Attracts a good looking
    Chick, if he's got money

Dont think I’ve ever heard it on Radio 1.

Just read the Wikipedia entry on this, interesting story about how the duet version came to be.

Just googling other answers and there are so many by Slipknot - so anything really from their catalogue.
As a , non Slipknot, suggestion of my own Nazi Punks by the Dead Kennedys comes to mind.

Angry? Depends on how you define angry.

I submit this by Einstürzende Neubauten. They must be really p!ssed. Maybe someone denied them a nice relic'd Tom Murphy or a Gil Yaron, and they've had to make do with a chainsaw, a spade, and hitting some extract ducting instead.

  • Great idea. Angry songs. Pure pissed offness can come in many forms. A couple spring to mind:

Minor Threat - I don't want to heat it and Filler. Straight edge, righteous, youthful punk anger

Babes in Toyland - Bruise Violet. Very. Angry. Woman

The most angry aggressive band I have ever heard recorded is Fall Silent. Basically punks influences by thrash metal and hardcore. Such an evil aggressive voice:

Pantera are up there for just being incredibly aggressive and heavy...still, all these years later.

    A band called American Nightmare....

These are awesome, guys. I'm glad I asked. I'm going to build an "angry" playlist with some of these. Keep them coming.

PS, Thanks for the PMs but I'm actually very mellow at the moment and nothing's wrong. I just got wondering after hearing "Killing in the name of" again.

Minor Threat have already been mentioned, so I'll add Suggestion by Fugazi - a little less youthful, but still really quite cross and contenders for best live band ever.

In a broadly similar vein, Henry Rollins used to get quite annoyed on his pre-commercial Rollins Band stuff.

But my 'real' suggestion is this:

In a subtler mood it might have been Shipbuilding.

Thanks for this thread @vasselmeyer, RATM (and a few of the others mentioned) at proper volume is clearing the cobwebs.
