FS/FT Solid Body Electric Mandolin by Chris Eccleshall, Trade for Bass
This is a lovely Chris Eccleshall electric mandolin for sale. I believe it was made in 1992, certainly judging by the serial number which is: 872 92
Chris made mandolins and guitars for Rory Gallacher, Pete Townshend and many more and his workmanship is just amazing.
Condition is really good with only a couple of marks above the bridge which can
be seen in the photos (please see link for loads of photos).
Frets are perfect and given general condition and lack of fret wear the
mandolin can't have been played a lot during its lifetime. I bought it from the
original owner.
Body is solid mahogany construction with a Chris Eccleshall hand
wound pickup. Single volume and tone. Rosewood fingerboard.
It has strap buttons and balances extremely well on a strap; will include a decent leather strap. The neck is a lovely V shape, incredibly comfortable and plays effortlessly. Nut width is a standard 30mm.
Tuners work perfectly.
Just been fitted with a new set of Daddario EJ67 strings (11-39) and it really
rings beautifully. Frets have also been polished. It looks like it has abalone
fret markers but I could be wrong.
It has a fully adjustable tunomatic style bridge. Height is adjustable via two
allen key bolts on either end of the bridge and saddles are adjusted via screws
to the rear of the bridge.
Case is home-made and appears to have a solid pine frame with good solid ply
top and base. Pretty bullet-proof Hinges and latches work perfectly and the
mandolin is really tight inside the case, virtually no movement. The case was
tailor made for this mandolin.

I am currently looking for a 4 string electric bass so may consider a
swap or part ex if anyone has one that is excess to requirements. May consider other trade options.
