Brunetti Pleximan - opinions ?

What's Hot

I came across the Brunetti pleximan yesterday while looking at amps and from all the demos it sounds fantastic, and at £1000 new it seems an absolute steal.

Does the clean channel stay clean at band volume ? (i like a little bit of hair in it, but not crunchy)

My current rig is a '83 JCM800 as the base crunch sound, then boosted with Fractal FX8 for more gain, and backed off in the FX8 for cleans. It works very well, but i've had it for a while now and fancy a change.

It looks like an awesome amp - if I could ever afford to drop that much on an amp it'd probably be the one I'd go for!

  • its one of the best amps i've ever played. Loud, compact, full of great tones.

The clean will remain pretty clean until its really wound up, but the magic is really on the drive sounds. Very classy sounding amplifier.

  • i'm amazed how cheap they are, i thought the Pleximan would be more like £2k

I have one. It is an awesome amp.

Clean will start to crunch a bit if you are very loud as a band. The real special bit is the foot switch  as the extra switch and clean boost are available.

This one ended my amp search.

  • it sounds majestic on this demo

What speaker are you using @Teetonetal ? V30 seems to be the favourite with this amp

  • I have it with a vox nt 2x12 cab that has two g12h30 speakers.  It's not the best match but that's the speaker I had in rehearsal room.

At home I had it hooked up to a wgs copy of the vintage 30 which I prefer over the celestion one. Not so harsh.

I suspect a celestion V would also sound good but mine is in use elsewhere.

It's an excellent amp. As always this is a precursor to my saying mine might be up for sale  as I currently have this, a newly acquired lazy j20 and a tone king sky king, and can only really justify one amp plus the axe fx...

all the clips i've liked best have been through a V30, so maybe the vertical Victory 2x12 with V30s would be a good partner for the Pleximan
