Now, a collaboration of Nile and Chas & Dave would be something!!!! ;)

BTW, the sampled bass line on Eminem's "My Name is" was played by Chas (well-respected session bass player in his day) and was lifted from a Labi Siffre's  "I got the"

I've struggled to enjoy the current series, although I appreciate that might be me. Also the Night Sweats people ( Nathaniel Longname and the) who are good value  on tonight.

Nope, that was played by Dave, who was the respected session bass player.

Chas played drums on a lot of the Joe Meek stuff, played session guitar, played in Head Hands and Feet with Albert Lee etc

BOTH of them are super talented musicians - and nobody does what they do better. And try playing it... its not easy!

But, I'd love to see Nile try to find some space to do his chock-a-wocka guitar in between Chas' piano and Dave's bass - good luck on that, sunshine. ;-)

Thanks for putting me right @impmann - I thought I read it was Chas, as I know Phil Lynott was a fan of his bass playing. Seems he played guitar on this one

    Ta :)

Do we have many famous Fretboarders walking amongst us on this thread?

I'm sure Ricky Ross from Deacon Blue is on here - he has a lovely Fender Jag for sale.

As a starter for 10, I'm sure he can be beaten though. Jimmy Page, reveal yourself now...!

I think I enjoyed Chas n Dave the most. Bit underwhelmed by the new Chic song but when they got into Good Times they are such a slick machine.

It didn't do much but I didn't like the guest singer's voice but 'Good Times' just summed up their brilliance and how fantastic to see all the other bands dancing and enjoying them.

I actually found Nakhane quite interesting

Goat Girls - too busy trying to look uninterested and "cool" - was the bassist even playing?  It looked like her right-hand fingers weren't actually touching the strings...

Got the Saturday night version on. Different guest singer for Chic who seems better but still not as good as the band’s own vocalists.
I enjoyed Goat Girl second time around. I think sometimes with Later it’s easy to think ‘ go on impress me’ and these things can be better if they just sneak up on you.
