I think the black guard looked just fine but have to agree the parchment looks better. Very nice job.

Part of me is gutted!... everyone wants a blonde with a black guard...

    happy with it now tho!...

dirty iphone recording of the oil city pickup... straight into 5e3, starts with volume rolled of to about 7(ish) then volume up full, sends the 5e3 into nice break up!...

The hole that's under where the pick guard goes?.... Dunno to be honest, it was like that from fender... theres a similar one in the neck pocket... Router guide maybe?...

I believe they are CNC guides. Most bodies that have holes have 1... I’ve seen a few with 3 but not many

Going with the old saying “if it ain’t broke... fix it anyway”...

I stripped the poly off the neck today and gave it a nice coat of tint...

if you are considering stripping poly off of a neck... don’t!... just go and buy an unfinished neck!... it’s a bitch of a job!...

neck is not as orange in the flesh.

Is it the same process as bodies, whats the likelihood of a ham fisted baboon irreparably changing the neck shape by mistake?  Just out of interest of course as I will be taking your advice! : )

Not the same no... @lovestrat74 has posted a few comment above how he did his and I went the same route... Stanley blades (got through 10) and scrape scrape scrape... took a good few hours to do the fretboard... the back of the neck and head stock, I started to sand, soon realised it’s easier to go back to the Stanley blades and scrape it off...

unless you ate hacking at it i cant see you altering the profile tbh... other more knowledgeable folk may want to chop in at this point!...
