@modellista I'd be happy to play acoustic for TOYL assuming the strumming style on their vid is OK, rather than the mad fingerstyle tabs that are all over the place.  Haven't listened to Boulevard yet.

Equally happy to let someone who actually knows Green Day do it too

EDIT: listened to it - yeah, that'd be fine too, it's a piece of piss (oh hubris)
Ok @Snags, good stuff.  Need a 2nd electric guitar for Boulevard and some time in the practice room beforehand!

Just played with a plectrum is fine, like the record or live Green Day versions.  I'm going to try to play the string part on electric.

Cool.  I'll listen to it a bit more and see if I can suss out the bits where he chops up the basic rhythm.  If not it may be a bit "busker" but close enough for jazz.

Open mic wise, may I please play..

    Tolerate This - Manics
    Angel Child - Oasis

I'll just need my acoustic at the pub.
We have to be so very careful, what we believe in...

@Bridgehouse ...fancy getting our Zombie on at the gig too? I can drop my acoustic version and do it as a band version instead. I just love singing that one!

Bump... lots of people expressing interest on the other thread, but according to this one it'll be a very short gig!

It's perfectly acceptable to pick songs you're doing at the jam day, and I'm sure Mr @Bridgehouse would do his best to ensure you get a run through on the Saturday if you want to gig a song from the main list. That's certainly my hope for Zombie!

I'm happy to accommodate any run throughs required.. just need to let me know so I can get them on the main run through sheet

Rockin' In the Free World pls (did I already say or was that the other thread?)

@Luttis also suggested Fight For Your Right to Party, which would be a laugh.

Is beer sorted for the evening event? (I'm a partner in a beer company, might be able to help).

Also I'm not a meat eater, do I need to bring/sort out something? (As I think you guys are doing a BBQ).

It's a private club, so we really ought to buy their beer, but it is cheap.

They're doing the bbq, I just have to give them numbers. Happy to mention lettuce munchers,  and once they've stopped laughing they may be able to get some of their foods food for you. It's smack in the middle of Beef farming country...

it's not about the money, it's about what it is ... got a link for them?

ta re food, very happy to get my own if it's a faff for the,, it's not something meaties tend to understand.

(if the worse I'm called is lettuce muncher I call that a win!).

& thanks for doing the org.

Another bloody veggie paw in the air here, if there is an option.  However, in my case I'm prepared to "go native" when amongst meat-eaters rather than create issues/starve/survive on crisps as my veggie motivations are more political/environmental than a deeply principle moral objection to killing the cute animals.

Regarding set list, I'd have thought we can transplant a bunch from the afternoon?

I've got a few other things I'd be interested in mucking about on, but am conscious that I appear to have ended up on quite a few in the afternoon, and for a public-facing gig would definitely want at least some rehearsal time to avoid being a total klutz.

They tend to have one or two local real ales on the pumps, and a pretty standard selection of pissy lager for those visiting from the shandy coast.

Their website doesn't tell you much more than that but it follows...

Apologies, I didn't mean to come across as dismissive,  I was just trying to be funny.

There ARE a lot of beef farmers around the area though!

    decent ale is fine.

no apology necessary you were being helpful. and I do see the funny side. I also have a thick (meat free) skin after 25 years of this.

They tend to have one or two local real ales on the pumps,

Do they have one named after an obscure battle or military commander?

    These are my preference ;)

    That's the kind of thing.

I do like a nice ale, might find myself a little less fond of loud guitar the next day if it is TOO nice.

the other will have a faux saucy name like "Cock Up" or "Sheila's Behind".

    best avoided in my experience.

I did say one or two... I'll do my level best to persuade Tony to make sure it's two.

He's under the impression he's getting a room full of southerners...so he's stocked up on quinoa, Babycham and cocktail umbrellas.
