Tweed 30TV (5A5 Pro): The latest (and last) TV front amplifier added to my lineup, sitting alongside the 5TV and 15TV. Pushing out a soft 25w, it's best to think think of this amp as a beefed up Deluxe with a pair of 6L6s driven a huge 15" speaker. Stuffed with a WGS G15A Alnico speaker, Jupiter Red Astrons, and 3 x 6SL7 preamp valves.

@RiftAmps the Tweed Pro with G15A speaker is an amp that really appeals to me. The web site says that it is available in TV Front and Narrow Panel enclosures (Wide Panel also?) and in three circuit designs. If the TV Front is a 5A5 are the other two options 5D5 and 5E5? Do all three available circuits push out the same power and have similar clean headroom? And how would you describe the differences between them sound-wise?

Guy’s custom ordered Tweed 20 (5E3, fixed bias, 450v B+) features a boosted power supply and fixed-bias to give the 5E3 circuit a little more authority. Stuffed full of Jupiter Yellows and loaded with a WGS G12C speaker, it’s off to Cornwall!

I know Guy well, smashing bloke, and I've followed his amp quest over the years. I know he's going to really love that Tweed 20 :)

You can order the 5A5, 5C5, or 5E5-A circuits in any of the cabinets - TV Front, Wide Panel, and Narrow Panel.

Do all three available circuits push out the same power?
    The 5A5 and 5C5 are around 26w, the 5E5-A is 30w

    and have similar clean headroom?

The 5E5-A has more headroom, but not by much.

And how would you describe the differences between them sound-wise?
5E5-A is like a mini-Bassman - classic nP Tweed tone, whereas the others are chewier, sweeter, and have more harmonics.

I have both 5E5-A and 5A5 demo amps available to try here at the shop

Many thanks @RiftAmps That's really helpful. I'll have to try to get up to Brackley sometime fairly soon.

Have you ever done something on the lines of a single channel 6g2/6g3, possibly without tremolo?

    I've done a 6G3, a 6G2, a 6G3 without tremolo, a 6G2 with Reverb, and a 6G2 TMB w/no effects.

If you wanted a single channel 6G3, it'd simply be a two-knob plug-and-play beast. Sounds like a great idea.

That looks great.  I always likes the brown/wheat combination, so much so that my blackface deluxe (which I got as a cutdown head), is in a cab with that combination.

Peter (from Denmark) ordered a custom PR35 to match his guitar and pedal.

The PR35 is a high powered, high headroom 6L6 version of the PR18 (the PR6 goes the other way) and can be ordered with a choice of Blackface, Brownface, or Tweed voicings. To accommodate the larger transformers required to produce more power, the cabinet is 1" taller (17.5") than standard. He chose a Celestion G12M Creamback speaker, which suited the Brownface voicing remarkably well.

Nice bloke, think I've seen him before somewhere.

That pedal works very nicely with your Amps. Cannot think how I possibly know. :)
