IMO, both of them sound interesting but one of them sounds more like the original SH-101/MC-202 than the other.

    The 101 is a weird little thing. So affordably under-featured that it ought to be almost useless, but weirdly toneful.

    Had the analogue mono synth in the JD-XI been a simple 101 circuit, it would have been a keeper.

    For me, this is precisely their appeal. I subscribe to the Brian Eno notion that under-resourced musicians are forced to be more creative.

    Also, mucking about with sliders and step time sequencers is fun. Eventually, something usable falls out. Slap on some delay and modulation. Robert is your father's brother.
