Was an interesting watch, to see what differences Warren heard between them.

I know its completely different and probably something you didn't consider, but what models would have researched if it was for a permanent set-up. i.e. you not having to worry about transporting them around?

If I was looking for something less portable then I'd probably have gone for ATC SCM100ASL Pro's.
I'd have to have spent the same again on my room acoustics though, which I won't doing until we return to the UK in 2021-2022.

Just having a look at the website, they look superb & absolutely huge!

ATC are good but they really aren't moving along with the big manufacturers in terms of innovations.  The drivers and amp packs are essentially modded variants of what they have used for the last say 20 years.  I guess it's the ..."if it isn't broke don't fix it" attitude.

I wouldn’t say ATC don’t innovate, they just haven’t jumped on the digital/DSP thing like a lot of other manufacturers.
Nor have they gone Class D.

I'm not knocking ATC (I've owned their gear before).  I just think there are some pretty major changes taking place in the way gear is being developed now and maybe some of it isn't even for the best.

Some of the DSP things are good and some are bad.  I'm not sure how they will be able to resist the shift to Class D as some of the reason is EU rules on power consumption (I think).  ATC just don't have the resources of the bigger brands unfortunately.

Just recently went to a sneak preview of the new Kii BXT add on. Paired with the three’s made for a pretty impressive package going blisteringly loud with full dynamics and punch!

I’ve always wanted a pair of three’s, although every time I hear them, I do find the highs just a tad bit too pronounced, or maybe I’m not used to the detail. Or it might very well be the song. But I don’t have that with my O300’s.

Brilliant brilliant imaging and bass though, absolutely top notch there.

Wow, I really want to hear what a 10,000 Euro pair of monitors sound like, they look awesome!

Also, I love SoS reviews, they’re so detailed. Imagine the Guitarist Magazine usual “did they actually have the item in their possession” non-review: “great speakers, if a little pricy, 4 stars”

Yes, they are bright but they are incredibly exciting to listen to- they also reveal bad mixes better than anything else I've found.
They don't flatter material that hasn't been mixed well like a lot of hifi speakers (and certain studio speakers).
    Exact mode is
The BXT's are a possibility for me- once I arrive in Singapore I'll have an idea of the room I'll be in and can purchase accordingly.

Like anything it is about learning the speaker in the room- I did this with the BM6a's for a long time (which I have held onto).

I took a bit of a chance with the Kii's- they have more of a HIFI orientation that I would usually go for but so far I'm extremely happy.
I had intended on buying some PMC Two Two 8's or some ATC SCM25A's but A/Bing the Kii's to  both these I just felt the Kii's were the right way to go.

Am glad that you are still using them and getting the pleasure from them.

Definitely the right way to go, if you go with your gut feeling, you normally shouldn't be wondering "what if?"
