    Yes, now to me, that’s FAR more realistic (and harder to pull off) that the beat to shit belt sander relics that are so prevalent these days. Nice one @lonestar ;

    Yeah - that’s a damn fine bit of work. Way beyond my capabilities - so far away I’m not sure I can find a good comparison..

    That looks bloody ace and one of the few aged bodies I’ve ever liked the look of.  Make sure you post lots of pics when it’s altogether.

    Scott’s painting a tele for me too and I’m really looking forward to seeing it put together.

    He does a cracking job does @lonestar but this has to be one of his finest. Can’t wait to see the finished build.

    Body looks good, however the sunburst is not vintage correct  (I dont mind) and the hardware not at all.

    It’s worth remembering that both “belt sander” and “shotgun” wear are replicating genuine wear that happens to some paints and guitars.

    Yes, they often get overdone or are used too consistently.

    Thank you all. This one has been a long work in progress (i shall openly thank Russ for his patience here). I’m setting myself a new benchmark and my constant experimentation is taking me in the direction I want to go.

    I like the relicing a lot, but I also think that was a damn fine paint job to begin with. There's real depth to the translucent portions.

    I think sometimes relic jobs are done on a rushed base paint layer with the attitude that "it's going to get knackered up anyway".

    This one looks the full Monty. Nice one.

    In the last few months, the business has really taken a grip and new opportunities have presented themselves. Since going full time it’s certainly given me more time to work on ideas and work out exactly what time, effort, materials and skill goes into the finishing process. I will not apologise for wanting to be paid for that, of course ;)

    For what it’s worth, I’m still working 80 hours a week for minimum wage.

    Anyhoo, a few more shots...

    Boo!

    The burst colour choice was taken from a 54 Strat which had a real deep amber glow due to the nitro ageing I guess. Taken from the Eddie Vagas site.

    I know it's not exactly vintage correct, but it's exactly the colour I wanted. And he absolutely nailed it.

    Beautiful work.  I definitely do need a blonde blackguard partscaster when funds permit.  But then this photo comes along, or the lovely red one you did a while back, and I can't help being pulled in those directions too.  I guess the answer to how many guitars you need is n+1.

    Thanks all for the comments. I'll post pics when it's all put together. First time using Scott, great service and top bloke to work with. Thoroughly recommend.
