    1 1/8" - 28.6mm - which is standard spec (and the '67 I have here agrees).

American Deluxe/Elite/Select is the same but more difficult to measure due to the heel chamfer.

Speaking of which, some of the "Metal" versions with double locking vibrato systems could have the neck pocket floor cut with a slope.

Squier Affinity is slimmer by approximately 5mm.

American, Japanese or Mexican guitars that seem fractionally skinnier than spec could have undergone over-enthusiastic sanding during a refinish. e.g. Removing a flaking Paisley or Floral wallpaper finish.

Why, that is most likely one of the most irrelevant measurements on a guitar. Give or take a couple mm's   It's the measurement above that, that's critical, providing the neck pocket is roundabout 16mm, unless of course you are using non-standard neck screws.

Or are you in dispute with a certain guitar body builder again?

    Yip!... see post above...

the blonde body in the pic above is a fender body and is bang on...

The Gb body, I’m left with saddles maxed out (the original fender noncompensated were the same) and an action that is just above too low to play...

Exactly. It is a moveable feast.

From an engineering perspective, the definition of the requested dimension is the full thickness of the body minus the neck pocket rout.

Which yet again is incorrect... (depth is 15mm)

only asked for the thickness measurement as it’s easier to measure and compare as both guitars are strung up!...

both bodies are identical thickness btw...
