i tried the new pedal range today. The only one I felt was usable for me would be the Santa Ana (red one). Others were a bit meh tbh

Anyone else tried them yet?

I tried the yellowy distortion onevand it was possibly the shittiest thing  I’ve heard since blackstar came on the scene. Absolutely horrible.

    Are there enough pedals yet?

This seems like a big manufacturer trying to jump onto a bandwagon that’s already leaving, and finding no room...

Yep way too many OD and distortion pedals out there. We need more modulation pedals I reckon :)

I have the Pugilist Distortion and i dig it. It isnt strictly speaking a hugely high gain thing though and it takes a bit of fiddling to dial in. It is stupidly big though considering it doesnt have a second footswitch.

My nearest Fender dealership is obliged to stock those pedals but cannot seem to muster any enthusiasm for them.

Ask the same dealer about MXR pedals and it is a different story - even on designs that have been around for decades.

Well I would never buy one but I have entered into a competition for one ;)

Not 'boutique' enough. Tell everyone they were handmade in a Mongolian yurt by a Trappist monk and they'd be frapping themselves silly over them

the only fender pedal i have ever really liked is the blender, which is a pretty ancient design by now. nothing else.

i don't think they are that interested in that avenue at all really, so they just put their brand name on generic 'whatever' sounding pedals a) to say they have a pedal line (box ticked) & b) on the offchance that someone who is brand loyal might be tempted to test the water.
hofner hussie & hayman harpie. what she said...
