Keeley Dark Side any good?

Second pedal question of the day.

I wanted to get a pedal that did a few things really well. The Dark Side seems to tick a few boxes - fuzz, delay, flange etc

Wondered if anyone had any experience? Or if there was any good alternatives I should consider?

Thanks

What kind of sounds are you after? What kind of uses - band, home practice etc?

I don't use multi-fx these days and I know the Dark Side is a bit more specialised, but if you're looking for a good range of sounds for not too high a price, something like the Boss ME50 is worth considering. They sound good with different amps, are fairly transparent etc. Other people here seem to be fans, too. Some of the distortion sounds aren't so good on it but I seem to remember the Fuzz being OK, and the non-gain effects were superb. They can be found for around £100 second hand too.

The main issue with the Dark Side seems to be that you can't have delay and modulation together ( they are the same circuit so it's one or the other).

Yeah i should’ve given some info on usage. I play in an originals band and just joined a cover band doing mainly classic rock/Indie. I also like messing about recording stuff (I’ve got plugins that can do a lot but thought it would be fun to try some real pedals)

I’ve got a Cornell Romany amp so straight up fender tones.

Ive got an EH Hot Wax for various drive tones and I’m gonna buy a cheap reverb pedal.

I haven't had a Dark Side, but I did own (at the same time) the Monterey and the Super ModStation.

My take on this whole range of pedals is the fuzz is good, the digital side pretty average. It worked absolutely fine, but was a bit 'so what'.

The Mod Station had a couple of annoying bugs for me, one of which to be fair Keeley fixed and gave me a new unit.

I replaced mine pretty quickly with a Mini Hendrix Fuzz face and my normal pedals for the mod side. For the dark side I think I'd go the same, appropriate fuzz, Carbon Copy and maybe a mini Ibanez chorus
