Just two more Roland GR-700s and H7 may finally have amassed enough stable voice chips to cobble together one functional synthesizer.

They look like clip on tuners for Goths.

Lol! Now there's a gap in the market...

@HarrySeven Please could you provide some idea of the fingerboard widths and neck profiles of those Egmonds?

    Ta.

    They’re Ekos, Sir! :)

Now, re. your question...imagine a cricket stump.

Run an imaginary plane down its imaginary length, so you have a flat face (half-moon cross-section).

Imagine what that might feel like when you grip it.

    Voila. That’s the neck.

Does anybody else keep reading voila as viola in this thread or is it just me?
Don't ask me, I just play the damned thing...

Those ultra thin necks are weird. You'd have thought it would make them super easy to play but my experience with the Hofner variety is the opposite.

it is weird how necks work and don't for different people. it's some x + y + z formula between palm depth and finger length plus relaxed position hand-cup (that gentle curve your hand naturally makes when you let it relax completely).

i find skinny shortcale bass necks and skinny shallow 25.5 guitar necks perfect. but i find all full size basses too much of a stretch at the lower frets, and too chunky in depth and width up the neck.
and (seemingly paradoxical) i can't get along with short scale guitar necks at all (jaguar, mustang) because the frets feel too bunched up together at the top. i don't even like 24.75 much.

@Bridgehouse ; if you love precision bass necks then you going from that to a skinny shortscale hofner or framus etc will be like going from wellies to high heels. absolute polar opposite. but maybe you will take to them utterly and ditch the precisions forever. midlife bass crisis!

hofner hussie & hayman harpie. what she said...
