Please could some kind soul help out with the chords, tabs, and/or sheetmusic* (with tabs if poss) for Kayleigh.

Thanks in advance.

* sheetmusic.com only has two Marillion songs and neither are Kayleigh. Sigh.

    I’m sure about tabs but the chords are:
    Intro. Bm A
    vs. Bm A F#m G
    ch.D A  G D  C G D

    it switches up a tone to C#m after the solo

    Soibds good if you set a delay so the intro chords is one hit followed by an echo and then it just the standard barre chords played as arpeggios.

    Play top 4 strings 9777 then 7655, listen to the picking and use your pinky on fret 9 of the top E on the Bm. Chords are above but pretty exclusively on the top 4 HTH

    Funny this should be here, I was gonna post about this song. I learned it on Sunday by ear and it caught me out @John_P ;

    Wasn't aware it was gonna change key after the solo an then I expected the Chorus to have modulated a full step as well, but it didn't, it remained the same as pre solo chorus :)

    I was gonna ask about how that works as with songs like Livin on a Prayer or Cuddly Toy, they go up and everything goes up. Marillion managed to go up for the verse, but keep the Chorus the same. I'm confused.

    @fandango

    This should get you in the right ball park

    When you've done with that one, learn Slainte Mhath too, it's simpler and also a cracker of a track.

    That trick of changing key twice without it being obvious is very clever - they often do similar cunning manoeuvres with the time signature and keep it flowing - only when you play a song or count it that it becomes clear.   Brilliant musicians making a pop song catchy and interesting musically.

    Plus I love playing that solo or any by Rothery when I get the chance - sadly rare though these days.

    Thanks @John_P ;

    It is very clever indeed, the amount of songs I've learned and had that moment at the key change/changes.

    Another one is the semi tone key change, it's very clever in this one and I never caught it ever listening by ear.

    I don't have a favourite band, but if I did Marillion would be my favourite band.

    Along with The Walkmen.

    And Bruce Springsteen.

    And Frog Eyes.

    Like I said, I don't have a favourite band.

    The solos in Jigsaw and Incubus are still in my top 5. Simply briliant. Kayleigh was such a different thing for them at the time, but is such a great track

    Correct. Incubus is my single favourite guitar solo.

    I always imagine Kayleigh thinking, "well this is embarrassing."

    True, but she hasn’t thought that for a while - she died a few years back iirc.

    So did she literally die of embarrassment or did she come to a natural end?

    That’s nearly one of the riffs in Kashmir.
