That revised Granular display gives a far better idea of what is going on than the existing *wire frame* drawing thing.

I need to calculate whether my Early 2011 MBP is up to the task.

Similarly, it may be time to ditch one of my old conventional Roland keyboard synthesizers and get a proper DAW Controller keyboard with knobs on.
    Be seeing you.

I've been looking at a Nektar Panorama midi DAW controller.

For me it's the hardware synth integration that is just so cool and such a great idea. If I were in the market for a new controller, I'd probably be looking at one of the compatible synths instead and just a Korg Nanocontrol or something similar for some knobs and handsy stuff for Omnisphere itself.

Oh man, this update is insanely great.
I can't download it yet though due to a lack of solid wifi.

I own a lot of the synths that the new hardware support er... supports.
Will be brilliant to be able to control Omnisphere in this fashion.

A quick skim through the new brand-specific patch presets was impressive.

I was relieved to discover that my ageing computer exceeds the minimum system requirements ... but not by much. I can probably get by for now by converting software instruments and associated effects processing in plain audio. In the longer term, this free upgrade is gong to cost me plenty.
    Be seeing you.

Oi! Some of us are still using the Roland Super JX-10 - albeit with the Colin Fraser SysEx upgrade chip. (0:15)

Meanwhile, Vince Clarke's synth collection appears to be a tiny fraction of its present magnitude. (7:10)

I meant it's a lot easier nowadays  I can do that drum sequencing thing with one finger using Reaper, looping, midi overdub and input quantize. Editing is a lot easier too. I agree it's nice to have lots of real synths, and I have a few classics, but I can also get good results with Diva and Acustica Audio plugings. I don't play keyboards live, so I appreciate that I may have a different take on things

I've been looking at a Nektar Panorama midi DAW controller.

NI have announced some very nifty controllers that are a heck of a lot more affordable than the original Kontrol series. I think the biggest one is around £200. LOok very cool, might have a do at one.

Try to check the keybed action before you buy (if you can).
