That 612 is a nice colour... but the 456 was prettier.
The Strat he played at Hyde Park in July was the same colour....

Old 911 ......guaranteed to appreciate in value while you are sleeping......good 1980s example or 993 so long as it's air cooled

Be a real man and get a motorcycle.
Real men like their bums to be warm on the way to work. Two wheels good, four wheels better.

Hmm. Maybe I should look for something with six wheels.

I think it looks nice, but having a fun car that's slower than my "boring" car seems an odd idea, and the Abarth is only available with ugly black wheels.

  • It feels much faster and will go around corners faster than your boring car.
Mass is of potential for tuning as well.

Is a Ferrari 360 Spyder within reach? BMWs are not special.

The 2019 Supra looks good, or the new Z4 if you want a convertible.

Old Porsche is a realistic prospect as a relatively attainable car that will essentially not depreciate if you look after it. Old air cooled ones are getting silly money but there are still decent ones out there.

If I were spending my own money I'd wait a year and get a year old MX-5 (the new 180ish bhp one) as something not too fast but very enjoyable, or the 2018 Mustang GT as something very fast and very enjoyable. You won't be able to buy a new car with a big naturally aspirated V8 for much longer (outside of supercar territory), so I'd enjoy it while you can

  • Porsche Cayman. Older models can be picked up for reasonable money.
Second vote for 993. The varioram engine is the most desirable. But, prices have crept up a lot lately. Keep it tidy, and you’ll make money on it when you sell.

  • Cayman S, 2006-10 is a good buy and possible future 'classic'

Not a big 911 fan, especially given the daft prices. Those 993s are more money than a 2014 XK, which has two more boomtanks and is much more gentlemanly.

Hmm. I think I want an XK.

I would second an XK. Just don’t get it serviced at H A Fox. You’ll need a second mortgage for that (ask me how I know).

Yep - you do need training to be able to get in & out though.

I liked the Europa SE I tried some years ago, but getting in and out was ridiculous.

The trick is to just always leave the roof off, then you just walk in or out

I suppose it leaks less with the roof off too... ;)

That's a Renault Wind. One of my neighbours has one and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that gives me wind looking at it.
