How often do you change Juan's G string?
Only when it starts pinching his nuts.
    There's lube to help that

I did name a few of mine...

    Ltd explorer - snow white.
    Prs tremonti - monty
Ibanez rg - Carmen (after Carmen Ibanez of starship troopers)

But then a real life girl called Carmen ruined that name for me. She was a total bitch.

The only easy day, was yesterday...

I think you stand fairly alone with the naming thing. However, if you must name it how about Sack of Shit?

No disrespect to the guitar but according to wiki Takamine manufactured its highest quality and most expensive guitars at its Sakashita factory in Japan. The town was eventually merged With others to create a city.

If you don’t like Sack of Shit then maybe just Sakashita.

... my guitars have names ... I've just bought a Takamine G-Series cutaway semi acoustic, but I'm struggling to come up with a name for it at the moment, any sensible ideas you may come up with will be greatly appreciated.
    Electro (short for electro-acoustic).
    Be seeing you.

My 70's strat weighs about 15lbs, you can get your fingers down the sides of the neck pocket and the truss rod adjustment doesn't work. Nobody would ever buy it. I call it strat the twat.

Oi watch it! Guys born in the 50s called Nigel didn’t choose their name themselves!

How about G-string or G-spot for the Taki?  :)

  • My oldest most faithful guitar has had a lot of names.
I got it when I was 12 and immediately called it Jimi, after Mr Hendrix
My mate Jim called it the Shitocaster - that name stuck for a while
It almost always got referred to as the Black strat, and got called Blackie for a while
And now gets called simply Black, or the black one, as the two guitars  I gig every weekend are Black and Blue and thus referred to as such
I have other Black guitars, and other Blue guitars and it gets confusing

Moral of the story, the names will be changed over the next 30 years, so don't get too attached to them.

Also, Tak, after a character from a TV show I watched once would work fine (I can't remember what TV show it was)

    I would go with Grace...

I have never named my guitars because I know it is only a matter of time before GAS attacks and I have to sell one - much harder to let them go once you have named them :-)
