Good cheap mini/nano Compressor

What's a good nano / mini (think Mooer or Ibanez mini) size compressor pedal? Need one in a small space on a tight board to go before my Digitech Synth Wah.

  • Mooer Yellow is very good - Diamond clone, quiet, with quite a lot of squish if you need it, but also good for what the Diamond's good at, ie subtle sound-embigguning.

    Any issues with reliability?

It's tempting fate, but no reliability issues for me, my yellow mooer has been on my board for about 2 years.

Fender Micro Comp is the same as the Mooer Yellow Comp but cheaper. Pretty good, IMHO.

I've been using a Mooer Yellow Comp for a couple of months, it's good - much quieter than other compressors I've used.

However I find it a little bit too subtle for my tastes, so I've just bought a Keeley Compressor Plus. I think I prefer a more obvious compression 'effect'. I'm going to put the Mooer up for sale if anyone's interested.

My little Fender Micro Comp worked for me too, but now i'm using only humbuckers i dont really have a need for it, sold it long time ago though I'm afraid

The Rowin Comp is good for the price. It's optical, based on the Boss CS-1, which is a renowned ultra squasher but it can be dialled back for a less dramatic effect.

Yes yes yes if the budget stretches. It's a really nice comp, built well but just happens to be small format. Great pedal.

The TC mini one would probably do a very good job as well and are only about £65 new now although I confess I've never tried one. If you like to use as an always on pedal then it's probably worth spending just a little bit more to get a decent one.
