Yep this is turning into a favourites thread

I believe it’s based on a Rat (or rather two in one box), so it doesn’t do super smooth soft-clipping drive like a tubescreamer, and the mid voicing is flatter.
Stick a mini boost or compressor in front of it and you double your options.
I just got a Caline Orange Burst and for £16 it's a great pedal. It's a BB Preamp clone and it can go anywhere from transparent clean boost to fat mid gain overdrive. I normally use it as a booster for a dirty amp but I could use it as a main OD if I needed to.
It’s a particularly nasty shade of yellow though .

"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein
Pair this with a MIB type sound ( TRex Moller, POT, etc )
Or if you want smooth and a bit fuzzier if needed just buy Analogman Sunlion and you have the treble boost and fuzz in one expensive box.......a surface dialled back is still a great medium gain sound.
Run it into a RAT after your low gain/boost and you have exactly what you're looking for.
I recently picked up a Laney/Black Country Customs TI Boost. A twist on the old Rangemaster, but with a bit more control on the gain. It's got my ear at the minute.
