I say,

"Hello my friend.........we are friend ,yes ......like brother "
"You make special price ?"
" Make for me very special price like brother "
" We all God's children.....like brother "
" If you come to my restaurant I make for you very special price "
"Friend,make for me special price "
They get a bit embarrassed and make some kind of concession (I don't tell them I don't have a restaurant )

I know a couple of guys who work at one of the Dawson's stores and they tell me all pricing is 100% directed from central office - They have little/no influence - I believe they can call and ask, but they would need to know who they are up against and generally don't move on a word and mouth pricing - Needs to be in writing ie web or advert

I believe they take no trades in whatsoever

They’ve also stopped opening on Mondays and have cut staff a contact in the trade has told me. Sounds like margin will be increasingly important....

always ask for a discount or case or pedal or something
don't ask, don't get
any retailer of big ticket items who doesn't haggle a bit will soon be an ex retailer

Yes - If any shop won't go lower on the price try getting things thrown in for free - straps/stands maybe even a pedal... lift home...
