That’s good news. Is everyone ready to jam??
Well it's my first, so the answer is "not really"
We will all be there to help mate, it's a lot of fun :)

I'm looking forward to "In Bloom", great song.
We have to be so very careful, what we believe in...

  • Im bringing a guitar to jam with as well as my keys.   Theres only a few songs that work with keys (and my ability) so should have time to jam as well.

    I won’t be touching a guitar.

And the fretless won’t be there - it’s sick (see other thread).

Yes, very sad about your fretless.

As for touching a guitar? I dare you! Go on .... touch a Les Paul or any six stringer, and see how you feel.....

I’m planning some acoustic shenanigans for Huddersfield if I can get the practise in. Does that count?

In other news - I’m involved in a “bass pass around” on Basschat - and so I’ll be bringing another bass for any bass players to try out - it’s a handmade bass from a European maker - an Elwray Infinga 4 - and he’d like as many as possible to try it for feedback!

@TADodger, @Darius, do you have specific tracks that you would like to try?

@brocco @darius, saw Blackbery Smoke at the weekend, so fancy some southern rock. One of their tunes, ain’t much left of me, morphs into when the levee breaks. Could be interesting?

Bonnamassa's version of New Day Yesterday and Working Man by Rush both have a good groove. Solo's are way beyond me so woukd need to be pentatonic widdles!

Happy to attempt other tracks in the same vein so please suggest away!

Hi @Brocco - They both do have a good groove. seems to be quite a bit of FX on both i think though? Do you play them already and do you use any FX?

@TADodger - I really just play them with some overdrive, but am really not precious about these particular tracks at all. Happy to try any other suggestions, thinking it would be nice to try some "rock' tracks with a fun rhythm over which we can improvise solo's, just as we would with straight 12-bar blues tunes.

Floating around somewhere is @bigjon s list of single chord progression songs for jams, may help your cause a bit?

Hi @snags there are longer versions I think but that's the kind of thing they need.

Hey Joe is on the setlist in fact, so would be a great basis for a subsequent "break off" jam for people who want to get their pentatonics on.
We have to be so very careful, what we believe in...
