It’s nice to see people make stuff rather than take the easy option and buy it. Keep up the good work, and the photos.
Tbh... absolutely no way I could justify the cost of the original that I am replicating here!... ;)

You can't buy anything like this unless it's made, there's no easy way for any of this stuff, the easy part is it's a flat top build so fairly easy and quick

    Bit more progress today...

Planed the maple filler strip flat...

Then added the taper to the rosewood handle cover...

Cut the slots for the metal line markers in the rosewood handle cover...

The stuck the rosewood handle cover to the handle... (just with double sided tape)

Then used the pin router to transfer the taper to the handle

The handle test fitted to the handle holder...

How did you measure and mark the positions for the fret slots?

The bed of the fret slotting jig has a template underneath which sits on a pin. Locate the first position, cut a slot and then move the whole bed along to the next position and cut again

Bit more from the frozen tundra that is the workshop...

got the ears glued on the headstock...

Got the tunnels drilled for the line position circles on the handle cover...

Strapped the handle cover to the handle cover rounding jig... then gave it a good 12” rounding...

The rounding jig did a bang up job of rounding the handle cover!!!!!

Then finally the position circles were melted into the tunnels on the handle cover...

Hopefully the next update will see the handle cover bluetacked to the handle and maybe the handle bolted onto the handle holder using hot hyde glue!...

He has had a bit of help not f##king it up, all the power tools do is ruin things far quicker than by hand

It's just practice and there are things like ready made fretboards that'll help
