@Legionreturns are you planning on playing bass on Dancing in the Moonlight?  If so I'd be more than happy to take on guitar duties for it.

Indeed. We did it at quad, and it's a fun tune. For the avoidance of doubt I'm talking about the Thin Lizzy song.

That's a relief.  I had a sudden panic after posting that I'd just signed up to do a Toploader tune!

Definitely up for doing a bit more Thin Lizzy.

  • I'll do a couple at the open mic if there's time.  Learn To Fly at the gig, plus whatever other want me to sing on, if anything.

Quite fancy doing that Rick number again!

We need to sort out rehearsing for the gig during the day.

We maybe need one of the rooms as a "gig rehearsal" and a bit of a tie up about how we co-ordinate time in the recording room with time rehearsing, as the set lists are diverging a bit.

Last time, as we used numbers from the main set for the gig, it was the third time played that day, so it was "rehearsed", so if numbers are unpopular on the main set, I think we should pull in "gig" numbers to replace them maybe?

    Just thoughts...

    Google Translate:
"Just thoughts" > "I am significantly concerned that the gig could turn into a car crash of epic proportions as we discover none of us know the songs we've committed to performing, and are all in different keys"

    =D

  • Aye, surely the default position is to gig what we've played in the studio that day.

The rehearsal room was something I'd already mentioned. As I'm not going to be organising any main jam stuff this time (thanks Ed!) I'll be free to organise gig practices in one of the other rooms. Absolutely do want songs from the main list gigged, but with others that people have practised and know well included.

Vocals are a bit of a bitch on Highway to Hell.  Happy to chip in with you on Rockin' if you want - I was half thinking about doing that in the open mic and getting @Bridgehouse ; to break out the harmonica
