New Year Pedalboard challenge

What's Hot

edited January 2019 in FX
So I suggested this to my wife yesterday in the car and she laughed at me (she has plenty of reason and history on her side to be fair)

What I suggested to her was that once I'd spent my Christmas vouchers I would be keeping the same pedalboard setup for the entire year!! So now I am doubley determined!!

Anyone else wanna join me?? I'm thinking that side effects of doing this will be actually playing the guitar more

I’m in. I just need one caveat - if Diamond pedals actual get around to releasing the Memory Lane Jr Deluxe this year as promised, then I reserve the right for it to replace my Diamond Counter Point delay - other than that I feel locked in!

Nice idea.... but ain’t gonna happen...Dry January, no problem... I even did a Dry year once, but no pedals for a Year..... Mods, this should be in the Parody section.... :)

Tried it before. Failed miserably in a few weeks.
I don't buy stuff in 4 months but I have a place in my board that is constantly rotating between 3 or 4 pedals.
Also, I really want a HX Stomp so, I'm out.
    Good luck with that.

  • I'm on year three of my pedal board being the same, although I still buy the occasional pedal. My resolution this year is to downsize it a bit, so we'll see how that goes.

Have downsized my one of 2018 to a single row board and the last bits should be coming this week for it. Really want to not add to it this year.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

My board has stayed the same for 12 months already. I think running out of space and power ports on my Voodoo Labs helped

You do realise that you can daisy chain from isolated outputs on the Voodoo Lab though, right? At one point I had 13 pedals from PP2

Does it count if I keep the pedals but change the board and cables?

With a couple of exceptions I can probably do it for all mine.

Bigger gig board with an ax8 might have an expression pedal change if I swap a mission for a spring loaded one.  Other it’ll stay.

Smaller guitar board with the ethos, kot, clon, dm2, el cap and flint is sorted and I can’t see how I could get anything I want to change.

Bass board with a Keeley comp, ce2 and VT di is perfect for me needs unless fractal release an ax4 or similar small pedal that could replace my bass board and work for a small guitar setup.

Weird feeling to think I’m done and aren’t searching for “upgrades”

For me it's the contents of the board. My birthday is in about a weeks time (where I'll get more Guitar tokens) and so technically it's a challenge for just under a year. I'm hoping to spend more time playing, being creative and enjoying the guitar and less taking pedals on and off my board

That smaller guitar board is superb @John_P I could happily play that combination and never want to change either

Thanks - took me a long time to find the right combination that can stack and give plenty of options with too much tap dancing.

Yeah I know. I have a couple daisy chained but don’t really want to do loads as it starts to defeat the point of having an isolated power supply! Besides, I’ve run out of room on my board like I said

I really want to commit to this, but I genuinely don't think that'll happen. I've been looking at the bloody EHX Canyon this morning because most of the modes sound fantastic, but I'm trying to be strict because I've genuinely run out of space and power options for any more pedals. And there's not really anything at this stage I'm considering selling...

No. You need at least two more delays and two reverbs.

Have 1 delay on there and don’t do reverb :)
